Principal's Message Term 3 Week 6 - 2022
Dear Parents
- On Monday we held an amazing Book Week Parade and staff concert written by Janet Williams, our Librarian. Congratulations to Cat in the Hat who took out the prize at the "Storyville Awards". Hippo was a big hit with the children!
- Many of our Year 3 children made their First Reconciliation during the week. A special time in their Catholic faith journey.
- The Gungahlin Track and Field carnival occurred on Thursday. We are waiting on the official results to find out the children who have made it through to the ACT Track and Field Carnival. Well done to our squad of 43 students.
- Good luck to our five Tournament of the Mind teams who have been practising daily for their competition this weekend. Thank you to Brooke Jeffries, Trees Williams and Stephanie Travis who have been working with the children over the last term preparing our teams.
- Our Chess club recommenced this week and will be occurring on Thursdays during the second break for children in Years 4 to 6. Sessions will be open to Year 3 if places are not filled by the older grades. We only have one coach so can only offer 20 places.
- Congratulations to Lachlan Hawes who competed in the Rostrum semi-finals at St Thomas More Primary School on Thursday night. We are all very proud of your achievements to reach this level of the competition.
COVID - Reminder to please notify the school should a student be COVID positive.
Families still need to advise the school should a child be at home with COVID via our specific email address, covid.motherteresa@cg.catholic.edu.au then followed up with a Compass absentee notification through the Compass Parent Portal.
RAT kits are still available from the office should you require kits for regular testing, particularly if your child is a close contact.
Pupil Free Day
Just a reminder that our next pupil free day is scheduled for Friday 9 September.
God bless and have a lovely weekend.
