Save the date to celebrate! Constable Kenny has turned 50!

Constable Kenny Koala is a free program, available to attend day-care/preschools and primary schools, to present a range of safety topics to children aged 3 to 12-years-old. Please note age restrictions and ensure that if you are a day-care centre, ALL staff are aware of those age restrictions. We have found that the limited attention span of children under the age of three impacts the important safety messages children receive through the Constable Kenny class presentation.
Stay OK on the road: Preschool – Year 6 (road safety)
  • Using safety equipment including seatbelts and helmets.
  • Safe behaviours walking or riding on, or near, roads.
  • Road rules.
Stay OK in the community: Preschool – Year 6 (protective behaviours)
  • How to keep yourself safe.
  • Dealing with strangers.
  • Who to speak to if you get into trouble or feel unsafe.
Stay OK everyday: Kindergarten – Year 4 (safe choices: decision making and consequences)
  • Thinking about every day choices.
  • Immediate consequences of actions and decisions.
  • How actions can affect yourself and others.
Stay OK online: Kindergarten – Year 2 (online safety via ThinkUKnow)
  • What the internet is.
  • Importance of parent/carer supervision
  • Identify adults who can help if something goes wrong.
Stay OK for life: Year 5 – 6 only (decisions and consequences)
  • Thinking about consequences before acting.
  • Immediate and long-term consequences of actions and decisions.
  • How actions affect others and your future
Please note the following:
  • If you are a Childcare Centre, please remember that presentations are only available for ages three and up (preschool aged). As stated above, we have found that the limited attention span of children under the age of three impacts the important safety messages children receive through the Constable Kenny class presentation.
  • Constable Kenny can attend your school for single sessions or for a full day booking, with individual sessions running from 30 to 45 minutes. We can only do six presentations within one day.
  • Bookings can only be made within your particular school zone. You must enter a school zone for your bookings.
  • Please note: The only class presentation whereby we may require a smartboard is the ‘Stay OK Online’ presentation as we may show the children a video at the end. If a whiteboard is available for ‘Stay OK everyday’ and ‘Stay OK for life’ sessions, this would also assist in our delivery.
Bookings for Year 3-6 Cyber Safety presentations can be made by visiting https://www.thinkuknow.org.au/. Please visit the website and monitor updates.
Stay OK with CKK
We also encourage you to access the educational CKK Online Game. Stay OK with CKK is a 3D educational game designed for kids aged 3-12 to learn about safety. Available free for download, the game features two modes targeting different age groups. Accessing the game will allow you to reinforce the CKK message in your classroom between visits.
