Something to talk about
About Jesus changed the world! We can change the world too if we follow Jesus.  Pentecost reminds us to be people of energy, enthusiasm, and imagination!
The Story
On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were all together in one place. All of a sudden, Jesus appeared in the room with them. He gave them the gift of the Holy Spirit and sent them into the world to continue his work of healing and forgiving people.

CONFIRMATION 2025

This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost—a most fitting time for our Year 6 students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Confirmation ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 10th June at 6:00pm. Please keep our Confirmation Candidates, their teachers, and families in your prayers as they prepare for this significant step in their faith journey.

Spirit Day
On Friday, our Year 6 Confirmation Candidates enjoyed a joyful and enriching Spirit Day alongside students from Holy Spirit and Good Shepherd Schools. The day was filled with engaging activities led by JPC Youth Ministry and our very own CSYMI leaders. Our candidates are embracing their ministries with great enthusiasm and actively participating in Parish Masses—well done to each of them!

Reminder: Everyone going to Mass this weekend is invited to bring an item of non-perishable food for the Food Pantry to support those in need.

The Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion

Catholic students in Year 4 and above are invited to participate in the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The parent information sessions specifically for this year’s Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion will be during Week 9 of this term. Please see the details below.

When:            Tuesday 24 June

Time:           1:00 pm and 6:00 pm (choose one session to attend)

Where:         Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Burdekin Avenue, Amaroo

We are not able to repeat the sessions on this day, so it is vital that at least one parent from each child’s family attends.

A parent information pack will be available for you, which contains a handbook for your reference, and a Sacrament enrolment form.  Please do not miss this opportunity to obtain all the resources you will need to enrol your child in the Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion this year. A note came home this week, asking you to indicate which information session you will be attending (1pm or 6pm), or if your child will not be receiving the Sacrament of (First) Holy Communion this year.

Please note:

If your child is in Yr 5 or 6 and is receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion as a ‘catchup’, their preparation will be completed through the Parish Classes, not through the Schools. Year 4 students will be prepared in class by their teachers alongside each school’s Religious Education Coordinator.First Holy Communion Enrolment masses will be held on the weekend of 28/29 June.

Peace and Best Wishes.
