Principal's Message Term 1 Week 6 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week our Year 3 and Year 5 students commenced their NAPLAN Testing for 2025. This has involved all things Literacy, including writing, reading and conventions of language. The staff and students have done an outstanding job in completing these assessments, while the remainder of the classes have kept traffic past their rooms to a minimum. The students will complete the final Numeracy assessment next Tuesday. A big thanks to Mrs Catherine Blackwell, who has coordinated NAPLAN at MTS.
Reconciliation
Best wishes to many of our Year 3 students who will receive the sacrament of Reconciliation during the week ahead. We will continue to pray for them and their families.
Year 6 Camp
The excitement is building for our senior students and teachers as they prepare for their annual camp for 2025. This will be a great opportunity to galvanise as group of leaders at Mother Teresa School. We hope they have the best time! Teachers attending include Kelly Boyton, Jason Smith, Maria Radic, Carly Reeves, Gemma Frances and Kathleen McGuire.
Swimming Carnival
Next Monday students from Year 3 to 6 (and only registered Year 2 competitive swimmers) will attend our annual Swimming Carnival at Dickson Pool. A reminder that competitive swimmers need to be dropped by parents or carers to the pool by 8:30am sharp. All students need to bring recess, lunch and considering the unpredictability of the weather a jumper or coat is also recommended. More detailed information has been sent via COMPASS.
Culture, Community, Connection Week
To celebrate Harmony Week, we will be celebrating our different cultures in various ways throughout Week 7. We look forward to seeing all of the traditional clothing on Friday!

Scooters
Please avoid using bikes and electric bikes/scooters on the footpaths outside and within the school and ELC grounds.
These pathways are for children and pedestrians; bikes and scooters should be dismounted while on footpaths.
Class Contacts
Thank you to everyone who nominated to be a Class Contact Rep for 2025. We had a lovely gathering of about 15 reps on Thursday night who are keen to build connections with families within the class groups, as a starting point. Look out for a Compass message from your contact in the next few weeks. It was a very social evening.
Have a lovely weekend
