On Thursday, the 31st of October, Maddie Greenwood our Youth Ministry Officer, Year 6 students in the CSYMI Youth Ministry team ran a retreat for Year 2 called the ‘Nature of God’. Students in Year 2 learnt about the presence of God through activities, inputs, student testimony and prayer. They prayed about where they had seen/felt/heard God look after them through others and shared the ways they can spread joy and love to others.

The Year 6 team led icebreakers, activities, prayer and inputs, and Lily shared her testimony with the students about how she has felt God’s presence in her life.

Something to Think About
How would you describe what a rule is? Why do we need rules? Can you name some rules in your family or school?

The Story
One of the important men in the community asked Jesus what the most important commandment is. Jesus tells the people, 'You must love your neighbour as yourself. However Jesus took the command a little further. In its original context, 'neighbour' meant only the Jewish people. However, Jesus' mission is to everyone. The command is to love all people, not just our own kind.
