Principal's Message Term 2 Week 9 2024
Dear MTS Families,
Following a week of Parent Teacher Interviews in Week 8 our families and staff are now engaged in meetings for those students with additional needs, formulating personal plans for continued success both in and outside of the classroom. These meetings, involving class teachers, parents and on occasion the Principal or Assistant Principal are an indication of the collegiality that exists at Mother Teresa School. A huge thanks to Mrs Gemma Francis, Mrs Jan Rawlins and all of our Classroom Support Assistants for the work they put in to ensure that every child at Mother Teresa School has the opportunity to develop as learners.
Academic Awards
Week 10 is an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and achievements of many of our MTS students through the presentation of Academic Effort and Achievement awards. This assembly will take place from 12:45pm on Friday 5 July in the school hall. The winners of these awards will be published via COMPASS on Monday. Parents are most welcome to attend.
Pyjama Day
On Friday 5 July the MTS community will take part in a Pyjama Day. To support those in our community who are less fortunate than us, we have been asked to bring food supplies for St Vincent de Paul to distribute. A flyer was distributed earlier this week, outlining the items that each year level is required to bring. Thank you for supporting this initiative.
Staffing News
Mrs Tina Bruce (1 Amber) has accepted a position at Black Mountain School. She will be with us for the commencement of Term 3 and her last day with the students will be Friday July 26 Week 1 Term 3. Mrs Bruce has been an integral part of our school community and we know she has dedicated much of her time and energy to the growth and development of our students. We are truly grateful for her service and the positive impact she has had on our school community and wish her all the best for the future.
Student Illness
A reminder to please keep any children at home who are sick. This prevents the spread of germs throughout our community, particularly during this cold and flu season.
God bless,
Craig and Lina
