WHOLE SCHOOL FOCUS
The Whole school focus theme for this year is ‘Walking Together’.
Our value for the next two weeks is: RESPECT
We can show this in the Mother Teresa School way by:
- Treating people the way we want to be treated.
- Playing by the rules and taking turns.
- Telling the truth.
- Listening to other people’s ideas.
- Being considerate of other people’s feelings.
Last weekend 65 students from Mother Teresa School celebrated their First Holy Communion.
Both masses were very prayerful and joyous celebrations. The church was decorated beautifully to focus the congregation’s attention on the meaning of the Eucharist. All the first communicants were very reverent and proud as they celebrated this special day in their journey of faith.
Many thanks to all who made this occasion so special:
- Father Troy who was so welcoming of the children and their families and whose homily so aptly captured the significance of Eucharist in our lives today.
- Fr Eden who has played a big role in helping prepare the students for
Reconciliation and First Holy Communion at Mother Teresa School. - The teachers, Maryanne Hawes, Sophia Caputo, Bec Cartwright & Bernadette Matthew who prepared the students so well for this sacrament.
- Mel Unwin our Sacramental Preparation Officer who ensured all aspects of the preparation and celebration of First Eucharist was beautifully prepared.
- All the teachers who offered their support during the preparation time; and most
The parents who have supported their child in this important step in their faith journey.
Please keep the children and their families in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate their First Eucharist this weekend. All the children are very excited and cannot wait to receive their First Eucharist. On Friday, the students enjoyed ‘Jesus Day’. They were involved in a variety of activities, including the re-enactment of the ‘Passover’ with Fr Troy leading in the journey. They celebrated 12 noon Mass with the Parishioners, reflected on the Last Supper and prepared for their First Communion Day.

“I did not say to you to forgive seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Something to Think About
The parable in today's gospel story helps us reflect on the importance of compassion - of being able to walk in another's shoes in order to understand their feelings. Think about a time when you felt someone really listened to you and understood your feelings.
The Story
This gospel story is about forgiveness, and it follows on from last week’s gospel about community. To 'grow a community' people must be willing both to forgive and to seek forgiveness. Peter says to Jesus that forgiveness is fine - but surely there must be a limit! After all, surely Jesus couldn't expect his disciples (and us) to keep forgiving and forgiving and forgiving! The gospel message emphasises not only the need to forgive but the willingness to keep forgiving. 70 x 7 = always!
