Principal's Message Term 3 Week 8 - 2023

Dear Parents

As a Catholic learning community,

all at Mother Teresa School are called

to care, to dream, to innovate, to inspire!

It has been a very busy week around the school. We have managed to keep all our events on track despite the spike in staff absences that we experienced this week.

Weekly Highlights

Mother Teresa Day

The children and teachers all had a beautiful day on Tuesday as we celebrated Mother Teresa's Feast Day with our coloured socks. While not the usual mini fete day the children reflected on Mother Teresa's life of service and the simplicity of her actions to achieve great things. We had a small act to raise $870.00 toward Catholic Mission.

Community Hub Expo

Congratulations to Karen Garrity, Sarah Stubbs, and Vicki Strickland on the success of our first Mother Teresa School Community Hub. We had lots of community groups attend to share what they have on offer to support members of the wider community.

ELC Art Show

Congratulations to our ELC team on a great display of art. So many amazing artistic works displayed by the children and the staff. It was so beautiful to see families connecting.

Parent Teacher Conference Term 3

The teachers will be available in Week 9 to provide parents with an update on how their child is progressing. Parents invited to attend a personal plan meeting do not need to double up and book a 10-minute check-in meeting. The booking schedule will open on Monday 4 September, by 11.00 am

School Disco

A reminder that our school disco is booked for Friday 15 September. This year the entry cost must be prepaid either via Qkr or via cash in a clearly marked envelope to a class teacher.

Kinder to Year 2 can come to school in casual clothes ready to attend their disco.

1.00pm - ELC and Kinder, 2.00 - Years 1 & 2pm

Years 3 - 6 will need to wear their school or sport uniform as it will be a regular school day. Their disco will start at 6.00pm.

The Qkr app is only used by our Community Council with all payments directed to the Community Council bank account. Refer to the information below if you need to find the Qkr app.

Are You Leaving MTS

We are receiving lots of enquiries for enrolment in all grades across the school. If you are aware of a possible move, please adviseas soon as possible. This will help with our planning for 2024.

Student Behaviour Expectations

Uniform Shop Opening 2023

Our uniform shop volunteers have advised that they will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8.30am - 9:00am. Access to the uniform shop is from the side sliding door (car park side) of the Hall. The current stock is very low.

We wish our Year 3 children making their first Communion and their families a beautiful weekend.
