    WHOLE SCHOOL FOCUS

The Whole school focus theme for this year is Walking Together’.

Our value for the next two weeks is: RESPECT

We can show this in the Mother Teresa School way by:

    • Treating people the way we want to be treated.
    • Playing by the rules and taking turns.
    • Telling the truth.
    • Listening to other people’s ideas.
    • Being considerate of other people’s feelings.

    FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Please keep the children and their families in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate their First Eucharist this weekend. All the children are very excited and cannot wait to receive their First Eucharist. On Friday, the students enjoyed ‘Jesus Day’. They were involved in a variety of activities, including the re-enactment of the ‘Passover’ with Fr Troy leading in the journey. They celebrated 12 noon Mass with the Parishioners, reflected on the Last Supper and prepared for their First Communion Day.

    THANKYOU

Thank you, Year 6 Charcoal and Ink, along with their teachers, Mrs Hicks, and Mr Russell for a beautiful and moving Focus Assembly to celebrate the holy life of St Teresa of Calcutta, who opened her heart to receive the message of Christ’s love and light and to share this with those most in need. They led the school in a terrific song “Into Our Hands”. Just like Mother Teresa who served Jesus by caring for the poorest of the poor.

Fr Eden, in his homily, spoke about when Jesus talked about loving the least of these, He wanted us to help with needs we see around us. He wants us to love people everyone else doesn’t see as important. Maybe they aren’t popular, easy to love, or wear the right clothes. Maybe they don’t have as much money as you do. Jesus wants us to see someone in need and instead of ignoring them, do our best to help them.

    Mother Teresa ODD SOCK DAY

This was a terrific way for the students to show, that like St Teresa of Calcutta we to can reach out to those less fortunate. The proceeds from the to Children’s Catholic Mission.  We raised $870.00. Thank you to all the families who supported the day through their generous donations. A special thank you to all our MTS staff who provided great activities for a fun filled day for the students.

    23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

    10 September 2023 - Year A

“If your brother or sister listens to you, you will have won that person back.”

    Something to Think About

Today's gospel is all about community. What does the word 'community' mean to you? Can you name some different communities to which you belong? How do these communities live peacefully together? What does peace mean to you?

    The Story

In today’s gospel story, Jesus is giving the disciples some advice about how to live together peacefully in a community. Jesus is encouraging them to make their community more united and more harmonious and he suggests what should happen if conflicts arise. The simple message is that Jesus wants us to live together as one happy family. What does peace mean to you? What makes you feel peaceful?
