PRAYER FOCUS

Thank you to Mrs Slaven, Ms Sadler along with the students in Kinder Crimson and Kinder Ruby for presenting a fabulous Prayer Focus on Respect. They did a terrific job breaking open the meaning of the value ‘respect’ and singing a beautiful song about showing respect to themselves and others. A big thank you to all the parents and friends who come along to support the students.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION / RECONCILIATION

 Please pray for our Year 3 teachers and students who are currently preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

This weekend the students are invited to bring their forgiveness hearts along to share with the congregation as they prepare to make their First Reconciliation. Don’t forget to bring an item for the Food Pantry and collect your jigsaw puzzle piece.

Thank you to all those families who came along to the Reconciliation Heart Mass last weekend. It was wonderful to see so many at the various masses. If you were unable to make it, please bring your heart along this weekend so it can be displayed in the foyer. This week many of our students made their First Reconciliation at the Holy Spirit Church. 
Congratulations to the children and many thanks to the parents, teachers and children for the time spent in preparation for this important Sacrament.

The students were all very reverent and aware of the importance of the sacrament.   The Gospel reading of the ‘Zacchaeus’ is a beautiful story of God’s love and determination to see the lost return to him.  Over the past few weeks, the students have been reflecting with their parents and teachers about making good and poor choices, and how all our choices can affect other people. Your parents love you and want you to be the best person you can be. We can do this by opening our hearts to Jesus.

Please continue to pray for our students who will be making their First Eucharist in the coming weeks.  Thank you to all those parents and grandparents who presented their children for their First Reconciliation and helped to make this a memorable occasion.

• Remember to bring along Food donations for the Vinnies Pantry. These donations help feed to most vulnerable and needy in our local area. Suggestions of what to bring can be found in the back of your handbook.

St Teresa of Calcutta

School Feast Day Tuesday 5 September

Liturgy hosted By Year 6 Ink & Charcoal

This year we will be doing things a little differently to ensure the true spirit of St Teresa of Calcutta is celebrated in the humble way in which she would appreciate.

Students will be required to wear ‘odd socks’. Not to go out and purchase any new items but to be in solidarity with those who do not have much. The money saved can be donated to ‘Catholic Mission’ instead.

All students are to bring in please. Teachers will be collecting the money in their classroom.
