Year A | Sunday 14th May| white

"I shall ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate."

The Story

Jesus tells his disciples that, if they love him, they will do what he asks of them. What does Jesus ask of them, and of us? Jesus asks us to love others, forgive others, be helpful, respect others. Jesus tells them they don’t have to do this alone. The Holy Spirit will always be with us as a helper. These words are a great comfort, for they assure us that God is always with us.

Confirmation 2023

On Thursday evening our Confirmation candidates received the sacrament in a beautiful and moving ceremony.  Their sense of reverence and awareness of the importance of the sacrament in their lives was very palpable.

Our sincere thanks to Fr Richard Thompson the Vicar General for his gentle and inspiring presence; to Fr Troy, Fr Eden, and Mel Unwin for their unfailing support. Kelly Boyton, Jodie Tanchevski, Jess Binet, Belinda Hicks, Kieren Russell, and Craig Hart for their dedication in preparing the students so well.  Thanks also to Leisa Keen for the beautiful music which made the ceremony complete. A special thank you to the Year 6 students who did not make their Confirmation but walked the journey with their peers and finally, to the parents who supported their children on this important part of their faith journey.

Beatitudes for Mothers’ Day

T2Wk3.2.jpg

Blessed is the mother who understands her children, for she shall inherit a kingdomof memories.

Blessed is the mother who knows how to comfort, for she shall inherit her children’s devotion.

Blessed is the mother who guides by the path of righteousness, for she shall be proud of her offspring.

Blessed is the mother who is never shocked, for she shall receive confidence.

Blessed is the mother who teaches respect, for she shall be respected.

Blessed is the mother who emphasises the good and minimises the bad, for in like manner her children themselves make evaluations.

Blessed is the mother who treats her children as she would be treated, for her home shall be filled with happiness.

Blessed is the mother who has character strong enough to withstand the inconsiderate remarks and resentments of the growing child, for again in due time, she shall be honoured.

Peace and Best Wishes.
