Staff recognition awards

Congratulations to Mr Peter Hughes and Mrs Anna Williams who will be receiving educational awards in the coming weeks.

Peter is the recipient of an ACT Excellence in Educational Leadership award by The Australian Council for educational Leaders (ACEL). This prestigious award is a well-deserved acknowledgement of Peter’s work at MTS and surrounding schools over a long period of time.

Anna is receiving a performance award from Catholic Education for leadership in Numeracy, improving student engagement, learning progress and teaching performance. Her dedication towards improving the teaching and learning outcomes of Numeracy at MTS has been phenomenal.

These awards are testament to the commitment of both of these individuals and as a school community we should feel justifiably proud.

Student Award

Congratulations also to Ellie Anlezark who received a Recognition Award for her drawing in the Catholic Schools Cultural Festival and Recognition Awards.

Her drawing represented her personal view on faith and what it means to her.

“I drew this picture because it relates to me and my life. The hand signifies my hand and it is holding on to the bible, I tried not to make the bible look old, so it represents that I am new to faith and I take care of the stories inside. The cross is the Holy Spirit coming out of my hand and it shows that I am faithful.

The Catholic Schools Cultural Festival highlights student achievement and excellence through a series of curriculum based competitions focused on Religious Education, Literacy, STEM and the Arts.

Year 5 Camp

This week our Year 5 students and teachers ventured to Narrabeen Sport and Recreation Camp for three days. During this time they participated in various activities including archery, sailing, stand up paddle boarding and high ropes. We thank the staff who attended the camp, Mrs Walters, Mr Smith, Miss Cartwright, Mrs Tanchevski and Mr Hughes, ensuring that our amazing Year 5 students had the time of their lives!

Father’s Day Breakfast

Thanks to all of our amazing dads who attended this morning’s Father’s Day Breakfast. A huge thanks to the members of our Men of Mother Teresa group who assisted with cooking in excess of 300 bacon and egg rolls and to the choir who sang like angels.

Congratulations to Scott Sawyer and Stewart Schram who won the Father’s Day raffle for this year. Over $500 was raised to support Menslink.

We wish all of our dads the best for this Sunday.
