Dear Parents,
There have been some changes to the dates for the parent teacher meetings that were advertised in the newsletter last week. The time frame I allowed for the on-line booking program was too tight. The online booking notification should go home to all families next week. The old expression ‘first in, first served’ certainly holds true with these bookings.
Kinder and Year One will be held as advised in week nine of this term.
Years Two and Three will be in week five.
Year Four will be in weeks seven and eight.
Year Five and Six have shortened their times to weeks five and eight.
Community Council
Next Tuesday at 6pm our Community Council will be holding its first meeting of the year in the school staffroom. All are welcome to attend.
Used Clothing Pool
This week several of our volunteers sorted all the donated school uniforms and made the uniform shop more usable.
We thank everyone for their donations however some items had to be discarded due to them being unwashed and dirty or covered in dog/cat hair. Could we please request that any donations you make to the clothing pool are the standard uniform items and that they are something that you would be prepared to see your child wear.
If you have suitable second hand uniforms at home, the clothing pool would love those donations.
Maths Problem
Congratulations to Brody Press who was last week’s winner. This week’s problem is below.
Ice-cream
A soccer team of 8 children will get a sweet treat after their game. Each child wants 2 scoops of ice-cream in a waffle cone. Each double scoop costs $6. How much money will the group of friends need so they can buy everyone’s ice-cream? If the groups of friends have $50 between them, do they have enough money to buy everyone’s ice cream? Draw a picture of your strategy for thinking.
