Principal's Report Term 4 Week 2
Dear Parents,
Many families will be reading this newsletter after a hot and dusty day at Boorowa. It was wonderful to see so many parents at the carnival supporting the children and getting to know one another. Congratulations to the children for their participation, their cooperation and most important of all playing the games in the right spirit, it was a wonderful day. Thank you to Mr Roweth for his organisation and thank you to the parents and staff who acted as managers and referees.
This Sunday sees our working bee at school commencing at 9am. Thank you to those that have volunteered to assist. Please feel free to simply turn up if you have some spare time. The more the merrier. A reminder to bring along any tools you have especially rakes, shovels/spades and wheel barrows to help spread mulch.
Parents are advised that all money raised from this year’s walkathon will go towards purchasing literature to add more reading material to class libraries and to establishing an outdoor library for those that wish to read quietly during breaks.
Student Disco
Next Friday we will be holding our second and final student disco for the year. The Summer Sizzles disco has the theme ‘dressed to impress’ with the junior disco (K – 2) running from 1.45 – 2.45pm. The senior disco will run from 6pm to 7.30pm.
The cost for the disco is five dollars with students attending the junior disco giving their money to their classroom teacher while the seniors pay at the door. A reminder that students attending the senior disco need to be collected by a parent at the conclusion of the disco.
Maths Problem
Congratulations to Isabella Geary who was last week’s winner. It was great to see so many entries so we will continue the Disneyland theme this week.
During the holidays, your family wants to spend 3 day at Disneyland and California Adventure Park. A 3-day park-hopper pass, which allows you to enter either park, costs $214 per person. A 1-day pay is $105. If you plan to be at the park for 3 days, would purchasing three 1-day park hoppers or one 3-day park hopper be a better deal? Why or why not? How much would the total admission be for 4 people? A season pass is $649. Explain how many days you must visit Disneyland and California Adventure to ‘break even’.
Lastly thank you to Hyde Building Group for bringing in the beautiful cake to thank the staff at Mother Teresa School and to celebrate World Teacher's Day. It looked almost too good to eat!
God Bless
