Principal's Message Term 2 Week 6 2024
Dear Parents,
As we push past the halfway mark of Term 2 and as the weather gets more inclement and the days shorter the King's Birthday public holiday could not come at a better time. It's a chance to rest, reset and fight off any of those minor illnesses that float around at this time of year. Over the last few weeks we have experienced a spike in staff absences due to illness. Thank you for your understanding as class groups are split to ensure the class programs are maintained. A reminder to please keep children at home if not well or have flu or Covid symptoms.
Staffing News
After a long association with Mother Teresa School, both as a parent and staff member, we farewell Mrs Jan Rawlins at the end of the term. As a community we thank Jan for her hard work and dedication, particularly in her role as learning support teacher in the Diverse Learning team. Her expertise will be greatly missed and we wish her and her family all the best for the future.
Miss Erin O'Leary will be returning to 2 Lime in a part time capacity from Wednesday next week. Miss Carly Salmon continue to work with 2 Lime, ensuring consistency and continuity in learning is maintained. Welcome back Miss O...We missed you!
Parent Conferences and Semester 1 Reports
The booking schedule for the Term 2 parent meetings is now open via the Compass Conference tab. These meetings are important as they will provide information of your child's progress prior to reports being issued in Week 10. Please note in line with a Catholic Education decision there will be no formal comment on the mid-year report.
School Hall extension project
Following a recent meeting with the architect responsible for leading our project it will commence towards the end of Term 3. More information once the tender process is complete and a clear timeline is developed. This will be a great addition to our school for many years to come.
Kinder interviews for 2025
Kinder interviews for the class of 2025 have commenced. All new families will be invited to meet prior to the end of term. Children who are siblings will be invited to attend their interview early next term.
Wishing all of our families a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
God Bless
Craig and Lina

This term at Mother Teresa School we will use the theme that: We are called to Dream.

‘The Mother Teresa School Way by’:
- embracing differences
- treating others fairly
- respecting our self and others
- having the courage to speak out
- recognising similarities and difference
THANK YOU
Thank you to our Year 1 students and teachers for a fabulous Focus Assembly on Justice. They gave us some very good examples of how we can show justice at Mother Teresa School. They explained that Jesus was a fair and just person and how we should try to be more like Jesus in everything we do. Even if we have small hands, we should try to ensure that we like Jesus, show fairness and justice
to all people. The song, ‘Stand Up!’ was sung with great enthusiasm. Thank you to the families and friends who came along to support the students.
RECONCILIATION
(Children in Year 3 or older)
Please note if there are any students in grades 4, 5 or 6 who are new to our school, are Catholic and have not received the sacrament of Reconciliation please email me so they can receive an invitation letter.
Thank you to those parents who have already done so.
Please read important information below:

“Who are my mother and my brothers?”
Something to Think About
We can tell from the Bible that Jesus was like us in lots of ways. He had a family, and he liked spending time with friends. Can you think of other ways that Jesus might have been just like you?
The Story
The gospel passage tells us that Jesus' family thought he was ‘crazy’. Does your family ever think you do strange things? In today’s story, Jesus encourages his listeners to think about ‘family’ in a new way. He told them that God’s kingdom calls us to see and welcome everyone as part of God's family. Jesus said that anyone who obeys God is his brother or sister or mother.
Peace and best wishes,

The MTS Yearbook is Back!
Mother Teresa School Yearbook has been confirmed for 2024 and we would love your help to make sure it’s amazing again this year.
We are calling on parents, caregivers, teachers and students to provide photos they have already taken throughout the year.
We want photos from sporting events (including the swimming carnival, athletics and cross country carnivals, activities, awards, camp, excursions, confirmation and any other photos you would care to share with us for inclusion.
The Yearbook has always been wonderfully received in the school community and are great keepsakes for your children to reflect on their journey here and we want to make sure everything and everyone is included.
If you’re attending school events (sporting, social etc) and you like taking photos (or have attended events earlier in the year), we’d love for you to snap and send a few back to us to use in the yearbook (appropriate permissions will be sought).
If you can help us with the above, please reach out and contact the Yearbook team via the yearbook email mtsyearbook00@gmail.com
Kind regards,
Your yearbook committee.
