Principal's Report Week 3 Term 3 - 2021
Dear parents,
The current outbreak of COVID in NSW is certainly worrying. As a school we have begun to plan under the assumption that if there is a case of community transmission in the ACT there will be an immediate and hard lockdown.
If the lockdown from last year is a guide, the school will remain open for the children of parents who are deemed essential or emergency workers. It will also be open for children who are in vulnerable situations.
Because the Delta strain is so virulent, the movement of staff will be minimised with the creation of pods to avoid all staff having to go into isolation should they come in contact with a person who is infectious. Parents’ access to the school will also be minimised.
Should we need to go into lockdown parents will be contacted via sZapp with information about timetables and expectations.
Math’s Problem
Congratulations to Piyushi Bandara who had the first correct entry drawn out this week. She is the winner of a hot lunch from the canteen and a handball.
This week’s question is below.
Place these fractions from smallest to largest and explain why you placed them in that order.
A diagram will suffice.
Boy’s Futsal
Congratulations to our Year 3 & 4 Boys Futsal team who took out a win at the local inter schools fustal competition a couple of weeks ago. Well done on a fantastic effort!
Spare Uniform Items
All the wet weather we have had over the past couple of months has meant that we have given out all of our spare long pants to students who have fallen over or slipped in the mud and rain. Unfortunately, many of these spare items have not been returned and we have now run out of spare clothes to offer to students who find themselves wet and muddy. If we have loaned any spares to your child could you please wash and return them to us so that we can assist the children when they are in this position in the future. If you have any old spares that no longer fit your child please consider donating them to the front office to replenish our supplies.
God Bless

WHOLE SCHOOL FOCUS
The Whole school focus theme for this year is:
‘We Are Bee-Attitude Keepers”
Our value this week is: Forgiveness
We show Forgiveness at Mother Teresa School by:
- Say sorry. Cool down.
- Stop the problem.
- Talk about the problem.
- Take turns talking and listening.
- Think of solutions to the problem.
- Pick a solution you both like and go with it!
THANK YOU
Reconciliation & First Eucharist
Please pray for our Year 3 teachers and students who are currently preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Each family has their own special stories. Parents please talk about some of the stories told and retold in your family. Share some of the precious memories you have of your child. Include their baptism, birthdays, birth of a sibling, family celebrations. Bring your ‘Precious Memories’ card with ribbons attached to mass this weekend.
Please encourage your child to bring their Mass Book to Mass and follow along.

Something to Think About
What is the difference between a ‘need’ and a ‘want’?
Can you name something that you ‘need’ in your life?
Can you name something that you ‘want’ in your life?
The Story
The message of this gospel story, is that God will provide everything we need – and more!
Material things alone will not make us happy, but what God gives will satisfy us completely.
God wants us to have faith and believe in Jesus.
